At press time the rifle hunts had just started so call us for the latest stats.  In 2011, 13 hunters tagged 10 bucks with the top bucks scoring in the 160’s.  His 10 mule deer hunters in 2011 tagged 9 bucks and top bucks included a 197 typical, 195 non-typical, 192 typical and 3 in the 180’s.

This hunt takes place in farmland country in the agricultural region near Stettler, between Calgary and Edmonton. The outfitter uses treestands as well as putting on drives in riverbottoms and using vehicles to cover country. 

He likes to take 12 hunters a week during the last 3 weeks of November.  6-day hunts guided 2x1 are $3,500 or 1x1 is $5,500. Nice cabin accommodations, meals, and airport pickup in Edmonton. He also offers a 6-day combination hunt for both whitetail and mule deer for $10,000 guided 1x1 or 10 days for $11,500.  Mule deer only is $7,500.  License is $460 plus a 5% tax.  Very limited openings.
